Give it up for @blackboltt on @NatandMarie!! #toronto #hiphop #film (Taken with Instagram)
One by one, we’re going to announce tonight’s big line up of guests. It’ll be a busy night… Trust me.
First up we’ve got Blackboltt performing live in studio! We haven’t had a music guest in a while, so this is going to be wicked… check out the teaser above for his latest project.
Also on tonight’s show we have EGR (pronounced “eager”) painting a “sexy portrait” of Nat&Marie (her words not ours!!). She’s a street artist whose aerosol cans have taken claim of on more than one wall in Toronto - not to mention at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Globe and Mail, Institute for Contemporary Culture, etc. This girl is real and if you don’t know anything about her, you have to tune in.
Online culture loves street art. There’s a lot of parallels that can be drawn. Two totally different worlds, but there are common things that they share - freedom of expression being one of them.
If you have questions for her, get them ready because she’s going to be in studio doing her thing live.
Tune in tonight at 9pm EST at NatandMarie.com for the show and get yourself caught up!

SO, If you haven’t yet you should go grab Black Boltt’s newest album LOTO, the shit is hot. BlackBoltt is the President of 1812 entertainment as well as the man responsible for my first comic book SPACESHIPONE. We’re working on volume 2. Rock Rock the Right!
This is an illustration of Black Boltt (Jawn) in a parking lot near my house. We were on our way to a shooting of the Nat and Marie show in kensington market. Jawn had 2 interviews lined up, we were going to meet with his friend ABSTRACT from Winnipeg but unfortunately he couldn’t make it. It was still great times though, I got to meet everyone at the Nat and Marie show including Rappers Spesh K and his friend who’s name is escaping me right now as I write this… I’ll get it when I post all the illustrations though. It was wild, and thanks Jawn for bringing that rum, Mmm mm.
Dear viewers, get at me if you know of any rap shows, performances, events I should be covering! I try to get to everything I can. Stay classy y’all.

“The Critic” is for the armchair wide-receivers waiting for the armchair quarterbacks to throw the ball. Dedicated to those people you know who spend more time talking than taking action.
One of the first songs recorded for the “Leader of the Opposition” Original Soundtrack, this is Blackboltt’s most personal writing to date. Lamenting on his nine-year relationship with the City of Toronto, he addresses the “Screwface Capital” from his soap-box podium.
“The Critic” is the second single from the Leader of the Opposition (LOTO) Original Soundtrack for the film of the same title coming 2013.
You can stream the song now, and it will be available for download on June 18th, 2012 with the full release.
